Scar Revision Surgery
Scars in the facial area differ from patient to patient in terms of their extent, shape and cause. The procedure must therefore be planned individually and the course of the facial skin tension lines and natural wrinkles must be taken into account. Several procedures may be necessary to correct extensive scars.
Procedure
Scar correction is usually performed under local anesthesia. Very extensive procedures also may be carried out under sedation or under general anesthesia. You can be discharged after a few hours.
After the procedure, a tight plaster bandage is applied, which keeps the corrected skin region free of tension and must be worn for about a week.
