Face Lift Surgery
(Rhytidoplasty)

Face lift surgery (Rhytidoplasty) is one of the most demanding procedures in aesthetic facial surgery.

Procedure

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia.

Today's standard procedures, the SMAS lift and the deep-plane lift, are not limited to the skin, as was the case with earlier surgical techniques: they extend to the subcutaneous connective tissue and the facial and neck muscles. This allows for a completely natural appearance after the procedure.

In face lift surgery, the incision runs around the ear and ends in front of and behind the ear in the hair line. This means that the surgical scar is generally virtually invisible.

After surgery, a tight, elastic face and neck mask is applied, which should be worn for about 2 weeks.
